The Mammoth-X was designed and tested by experienced law enforcement officers in Canada and was tested and approved by members from an officer safety and firearms training unit.

The Mammoth-X is the combination of a glove inside a mitt with a cuff design to fit under winter coats. When you work in -40◦C/-40◦F temperatures, your hands need to be warm and ready for anything. Every detail applied to this glove was designed with law enforcement and military applications in mind.

  • 3MTM ThinsulateTM 240G insulation
  • Removable glove
  • Dexterity right to the holster
  • Wind resistant
  • Two inside pockets for hot pouches
  • Durable leather palm
  • Gauntlet style cuff

*Not all gloves on the market fit the same. Review the sizing chart provided.
New mitts may feel tight. The leather will break-in after many uses.

From the experience of officers:

"I can draw my pistol from my holster. My finger gets passed the trigger guard with no problem and I can pull the trigger. I can conduct a reload. It's not fast by any means, but I can get it done. With my rifle... I can shoot and reload without any problems."

"I've held a rifle in -40◦C while sitting motionless for over an hour. Adding hot pouches inside the mitt is a game changer. My hands were warm the entire time."

Incredible glove

I bought these gloves for a multi-week arctic exercise last year in the North American Arctic as a part of a DFS/HMG section. I wore these gloves for an extended duration in temperatures between -35 and -62, leaving them outside of the tent/shelter with my parka while not in use. There were no issues whatsoever in their ability to withstand the temperature when combined with a proper vapour barrier (ie nitrile glove) and a merino wool liner. I bought the Large or XL to fit my liners and it was tight at first until the gloves broke in. The snaps did not conduct as much heat into the center of the glove as I thought and overall they were suited for the purpose, though I would be very cautious for barrel changes and other touching of hot parts with the gloves as I am not confident with its fire resistance. The only big point to improve would be that I would want a proper snow cuff to go over the sleeves of the parka. If they were to widen the cuffs and elongate them with a string or elasticated synch at the end of the cuff, there would be less compression of the wrist when wearing your static layers and it would provide an overall superior functionality for sub-arctic and high-arctic conditions.

Great mitt! Ordered the Xl, for a size 10-11 hand, and sizing was spot on. Roomier fit than my original Mammoths in xl black. Very well made. Would buy again.

Thanks Mike for your positive review. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for your continued support of our business.
